Le but du congrès est d'abord de faire le point sur les résultats acquis et sur le développement des relations franco-japonaises dans le domaine des Singularités en Géométrie et Topologie.
Le congrès sera consacré à l'étude des singularités des points de vue topologie algébrique et géométrie algébrique : topologie des singularités, classes caractéristiques des variétés singulières, homologie d'intersection, feuilletages singuliers, singularités de champs de vecteurs holomorphes et leurs applications.
