Transfer relations in essentially tame local
Langlands correspondence

Abstract: We first recall the essentially tame local Langlands correspondence of GL_n constructed by Bushnell and Henniart. Their results describe the difference of the local construction and the functorial induction of supercuspidal representations by certain characters of tamely ramified elliptic maximal tori. We relate their results to endoscopic transfer relations of Kottwitz, Langlands, and Shelstad by comparing twisted characters of representations. Therefore we can relate rectifiers to certain transfer factors, and hence we can interpret the essentially tame correspondence using admissible embeddings of L-groups.

Algebraicity of automorphic representations

Abstract: In the first part of the talk we will discuss several different notions, of varying strength, of algebraicity for automorphic representations. In the second part, we will present two algebraicity results: The first is the association of Galois representations to automorphic representations of unitary groups whose archimedean component is a holomorphic limit of discrete series, generalizing previous work of Deligne-Serre and Taylor. The second concerns Langlands functoriality properties of degenerate limits of discrete series.
