Constructing families of explicitly isogenous
high-dimensional Jacobians

Abstract : A pair of abelian varieties is said to be isogenous if there exists a surjective homomorphism between them with finite kernel. While the explicit theory of isogenies for elliptic curves (that is, the one- dimensional case) is well-established, examples of explicit isogenies between Jacobians of higher genus curves are rare. We will give a simple construction which yields, for all but finitely many primes $p$, families of pairs of curves of genus $3(p-1)$, $5(p-1)$, $6(p-1)$, $7(p-1)$, $10(p-1)$, and $15(p-1)$ with explicitly isogenous Jacobians.
